Awesome Sushi in Long Beach

Absolutely great! We tried the specialty sushi and the cheese cake tempura which was AWESOME! "<-See what i did there" buts seriously it was great and the customer service was perfect! My drink was never empty and they stayed on top of being attentive. Stop by check them out you wont regret it!

Service was not good.Non attentive Not friendly 1 server smiled and was nice and that is the only reason we tipped.The tempera sauce was not flavorful.Veggies were cooked ok but small portion.Everything was small portions.The sushi rice was not cooked all the way.The butter ponzu sauce tasted like fake butter flavor.Yuzu sake was yummy though.We have had a great time here before but tonight it was not good at all. =(

They served us great sushi and a bento box even though they were closing. My girlfriend's teriyaki glazed salmon was tasty! Very friendly staff and the food was awesome. Definitely will be coming back when we are in the area again.Thank you!!!

This place speaks for itself. The name alone says it. Awesome Sushi!... They are awesome, they're food is awesome they're service was quick and very friendly. Wow!... let's get to the sushi. First off...they are offering outside open air dining. Now...the sushi. All...I mean all of the sushi we were served was delicious. Everything tastes so fresh. Do order the Baked Green Mussels. Not only do they shuck the mussel... its sliced t in the shell for easy eating. They have many different options with the special rolls...many combinations to choose from. Best sushi I've had in my life!

This place is great the owner actually served us and the food was excellent. I had blue fin tuna that was great, and octopus that was sssoooo good. The oysters were some of the most memorable oysters I've ever had and I've had a lot. The rolls are so good and the home made creme brûlée was fantastic the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and the service was great

Great small place, and great food. Service was fast and accurate. Ordered the "because I love you" roll and it was very interesting and yummy with the spicy mayo and bits of bacon. Miso soup was good too.If you this review was helpful, give it a like👍

Superb staff, food and services are offered with Awesome Sushi. I come back about once a month and things have been consistently great. Good for groups, solo or dates. Gets pretty popular around close time. Buy a t-shirt, sport it next time ya go, and they give you a discount on your meal. Just too Awesome.

Best sushi ever !!! Also I always feel so happy when I go there. They have perfect hospitality and really make you feel at home there. Some of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. Would totally recommend this place !

I've had sushi before, but coming from Indiana, I guess I've just never had sushi so fresh and high quality. Just absolutely delicious! And fresh! I had the namesake "Awesome Roll" and the Tuna Sashimi Bowl. Even the wasabi was fresher than I've ever had. Small, informal space, but you have to try it sometime!

A nice place to stop over to when at or aroun LGB airport or its vicinity. The sushis are nice and of decent size. They have lots of creations and variations and I am sure everyone gets its fair share if you are into Japanese food. Attentive and friendly staff. Would stop by anytime again.

Totally in the top 3 sushi places I have been , and I eat sushi about 2 to 3 times a week ! Great staff also .

This place is the absolute best, they have an awesome happy hour menu for sushi, the staff is awesome and friendly. I recommend trying some blue fin while you're there and maybe even a sake bomb ;) Needless to say, this place is awesome and my favorite.

I'm envious of locals. Just visiting and taking a look at earlier reviews, looked like a good option for lunch. Awesome Sushi ABSOLUTELY lives up to their name. From atmosphere, to food I will definitely come back. Photo was taken after we already started digging in. Loved the spicy edamame.

We loved the sushi here, even the non-fish rolls! The vegetable tempura roll was probably the best I’ve had. Our waitress was very nice and friendly, even the sushi chefs were welcoming.

Delicious Sushi! This corner spot offers an extensive menu of options, with a classic array for appetizers. Happy Hours are a must/worth it. And love the beer selection. The location is a bit unusual and the size of the establishment is on the smaller side, but the owner/staff and experience overall is always wonderful. Love this place. 👍👍

The food is really good and everything is fresh.

I've been coming here for most of my life and I've never felt more willing to support a restaurant. The staff and their attention to service are unmatched and I'm awestruck at their expansive selection of vegetarian choices. I highly recommend the V-Warrior and Ultraviolet rolls if you like it veggie. Pictured below is the green tea tempura ice cream, a flakey treat of a dessert perfectly sized for sharing. Much love for my favorite local sushi spot!

Should be called F-en Awesome!!!First, you'll be taken care of by the lovely and sparkling Nena and her amazing staff. You'll feel like family. Prepare to have a great time. Food: best sushi, period. Just get it. Haven't been been disappointed in the 3 years we've been going there.

Not awesome. Loud, chaotic atmosphere, staff person kept yelling across the room right behind me and wouldn't stop despite my obvious discomfort; mussels took half an hour, and they only brought two which were drowning in mayo; sushi pieces were very thin and small. I wouldn't go back.

Awesome sushi lives up to its name. The experience is awesome. Super friendly staff and great quality sushi. If you start becoming a regular they truly treat you like family. The chefs may make a treat just for you or the servers may do a sake bomb with you. It can get busy for dinner on the weekends but the wait is worthbit.

Small place but very good. Was invited to meet some former coworkers for a few beers. I'm not a sushi person but I did try the tuna belly and scallops. I must say that both were delicious. Also had a tempura bowl which was also excellent. All the staff were perfect. Good location just off the 405 freeway at Clark Ave. in Long Beach.

A fantastic place to eat and have some sake, you can go with some friends and have a good chat there while you're eating and celebrating. They put a great effort in their plates, so you're gonna love everything.

two days ago was our first time in this good restaurant. But It is no doubt not the last time. We had great time with the excellent service, with the exceptional cuisine and wine and with the modest cost. We will definitely come back in a short time.

I used to live down the street from Awesome Sushi in long beach. I moved to AZ for work and still have not found any place that comes close to Awesome Sushi. Love and miss this place.
